Meet Italian youth
Music education in Italy is not offered at regular schools. Nevertheless, out of
18,424 high-schools, 161 are Music and Choir oriented: a little less history, less
math, less literature and thirty per cent of the school hours dedicated to music.
In addition, 57 Music Conservatories, some almost 200 years old, provide
young Italians who aim at a professional career with nine years of higher music
education.
Local choirs and youth ensembles, whether part of a school, of a conservatory or
simply community based, are eager to perform exchanges with visiting musicians
