The art of performing for a local audience — in Italy, in Greece and in the Balkans 7
Al Fresco
When the Mediterranean warms up, Italians come out to spend their evenings outdoors, in
the piazzas. And that’s where music moves too. Medieval squares, secret cloisters, ancient
amphitheaters and even hot spring spa parks, all turn into performing stages. Over 1,500
performing festivals are held al fresco in Italy between May and September.
