Incredible Etna!
Just a few miles south of the trendy
hilltop town of Taormina lies Mt Etna, the
largest volcano in continental Europe. A
mythological giant whose pyrotechnic
displays have lured visitors to Sicily for
centuries. Its credentials are impressive:
10,990ft, 300 cones, five live craters. With
each eruption the landscape is altered
as new cones and calderas are formed.
Visitors climb to the summit via a
comfortable cable car. Truly, the only
drama at the top is the breathtaking
360-degree vista across Sicily that
stretches so far one can see the “boot”
of mainland Italy and, in a clear day,
the shores of Tunisia, in Africa. If you’re
not there for the beauty of mother
nature, there is no-where more exotic
for a team-building session.
