Italy is a peninsula in Southern Europe, right in the
heart of the Mediterranean Sea. Its Northern
borders are, from East to West, with France,
Switzerland, Austria and Slovenia. Two other
independent countries are enclaves in the
territory of Italy: the Republic of San Marino
and the Vatican.
Rome is the capital city.
