Going back to Cali (and giving back)
By: Effetto Italy On: January 5, 2019 In: Corporate News
Last month, SITE SoCal hosted it’s Annual Holiday Event and Charity Auction, and Effetto was on the scene to help celebrate their 20th anniversary. And what a scene it was! Complete with a full-on sailing regatta (sold out before I could even get my registration in – arrgh!), an incredible reception in the Hotel del Coronado, and a fabulous charity auction lunch at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort. And nothing gets me into the holiday spirit more than reconnecting with my old cohorts and meeting new friends.
As fabulous and fun as everything was, the best part was knowing that it was all for a good cause. Over the past 20 years, SITE SoCal has benefitted nearly 40 grassroots organizations and has raised $1.6 million in donations. Three amazing non-profits were featured this year:
- The Mitchell Thorp Foundation, inspired a boy who fought a 5 year courageous battle with an undiagnosed illness, provides individualized aid to meet the needs of the child and family through Medical and Home Assistance Programs, Healing and Rehabilitation Programs and Conversion Van Program.
- CARMA (Compassionate Animal Rescue for Medical Aid), founded by veterinary professionals, rescues sick or injured animals, provides them with necessary medical care and places them into caring homes.
- Bracken’s Kitchen, founded with the sole intent of using food to make a difference, provides food for those in need.
And to get everyone excited about bidding, each table at the luncheon was part of a decoration contest (Congrats Hard Rock Hotel!). One thing is for sure, the Incentive and Event community does table-scape very well.
I am looking forward to the 21st year!
A presto,
Jessica
