Oh Carnevale!
The world-famous spectacle of the
Venice Carnival commences with the
extraordinary floating show on the Rio di
Cannaregio kicking off three weeks of
festivities. Fantastical regattas,
masquerade balls and costume
competitions illuminate the city’s canals
and campos in a riot of noise and color.
Many in the crowds wear donned
costumes and masks to get into the
carnival spirit as they witness the floating
structures filled with performers many
costumed as sea creatures make there
way in procession along the canal. Let
